Coffee drips from the edges
of the filter holder, rather
than through the holes.
The filter holder has not
been inserted correctly.
The holes are blocked in the
filter holder.
Remove the filter and
re-attach the filter again
(see Fig. 1)
Remove the filter and clean
the filter holder.
Espresso no longer drips out There is insufficient water
in the water tank.
The holes in the filter
are blocked.
Fill the water tank with fresh
cold water, taking care not
to exceed the “max”.
Rinse the filter under the tap
and if necessary clean with
a pin.
The coffee is cold
The espresso machine
had not undergone the
preheating process.
The green indicator ready
light was not illuminated.
The cups were not
pre-heated.
Follow the “preheating”
instructions.
Wait for the green light
to come on.
Place the cups on the
warming plate for
10 minutes or rinse the
cups under hot water.
The pump is very noisy
The water tank is empty.
Switch off the machine,
remove the water tank and
refill with fresh cold water.
The crema is poor
The ground coffee has not
be pressed down firmly
enough.
There is insufficient coffee.
The ground coffee is not
finely ground enough.
Use the tamper on the end
of the measuring scoop
to press down the coffee
more firmly.
Make sure you use one
scoop of ground coffee
per cup of espresso.
Only use coffee specially
designed for espresso
machines, the coffee will
be a finer grind.
No steam or reduced steam
from the steam spout
The steam nozzle is blocked. Clean the steam nozzle.
