CARE & CLEANING
You must clean the steam nozzle and froth attachment immediately after each use,
if you do not this can get blocked. After you finish frothing milk, the best solution is
to run a small amount of steam through the nozzle to remove any traces of milk.
1. Remove the steam wand protector and place this under running water to remove
any excess milk.
2. Wipe the steam nozzle, removable cup tray and the exterior of the unit with
a clean, damp cloth. Do not use any harsh abrasives or metal scourers as this
will damage the cosmetic finish of the unit.
3. Remove the filter holder by turning it clockwise and tapping out any coffee
grounds rinse the filter and holder under running water.
4. Lift out the removable drip try and wash in warm soapy water. Rinse and
thoroughly dry before refitting.
DESCALING
Lime-scale build-up will reduce the efficiency of your Espresso Machine.
Regular cleaning every 6-8 weeks is essential to prevent lime- scale build-up and
prevent reducing the Espresso Machine’s working life. More frequent cleaning will be
required depending on the quality of water where you live and how often the Espresso
Maker is used. If the water is filtering through more slowly than usual this is also a sign
that the machine needs to be de-scaled. We recommend you use a specific “household
descaler” especially designed for Espresso Machines.
1. Fill the tank with cold water and the descaler to the “Max” line.
2. Follow the “preheating instructions” but do not place the filter
holder underneath the water boiler, instead place a suitable
container to collect the water underneath.
3. Run half the water from the water tank through the machine,
by turning the control dial to the coffee extraction indicator
(see Fig. 4). When half the water has passed through the machine
switch off the button. Turn the control dial to the steam indicator
(see Fig. 5) and wait for the green light to appear and rotate
the steam control dial a little to allow steam to come out of
the frothing nozzle for 1 minute, and then turn the dial off.
4. Turn the dial to the OFF position. Leave the descaling solution
to work for about 15 minutes.
5. Re-start the unit and allow the remainder of the water/descaler
mixture to flow through the machine following step 3.
6. To elimate any residue left behind from the descaling solution,
rinse the water tank well and re-fill with clean cold water and
replace. Repeat the “preheating instructions “at least 3 times
to ensure there are no residues left.
STORAGE
Ensure that the Espresso maker has completely cooled down and is clean before
storing away. Store in its packing box or in a clean, dry place.
SERVICING
