OPERATION
Getting the right espresso for every user’s taste is dependent upon the type of coffee,
the amount and the pressing.
We recommend you choose your preferred coffee blend, one with a fine grind,
especially for espresso.
The result will vary considerably according to the quantity of coffee used. If you want a
strong coffee you should use the finest grind possible and fill the coffee holder to
the maximum.
It is recommended to press the coffee down using the tamper, this will improve the
crema on top of the espresso.
Coffee should always come out of the filter holder in a regular stream without dripping,
if this is not the case look at the quantity of coffee or adjust the coffee grind.
PREPARING THE ESPRESSO MACHINE FOR USE
Filling the water tank
1. Remove the detachable water tank and fill with cold water, taking care not to
exceed the “Max” level on the water tank.
2. Replace the water tank back into correct position.
Preheating your Espresso Machine
To make sure your coffee is dispensed at the optimum temperature it is essential that
the coffee unit is preheated before use.
1. Push the filter into filter holder firmly (without coffee). Attach the empty filter
holder to the machine by positioning it under the boiler outlet with the handle
towards the left of the unit. Turn it to the right to the “lock” position (see Fig. 1).
2. Place a suitable cup under the filter holder, it is a good idea to use the cup in which
the coffee will be served, so that the cup may be pre-heated, turn the dial to the
pre-heat setting ( ).
3. When the thermostat indicator light (green) comes on,
turn the control dial
clockwise again to the cup symbol ( ) on the control dial (see Fig. 2).
Allow the water to run until the green light goes out and then turn the dial
back one click, the pre-heating has now finished.
