7. MAINTENANCE when configured as a Timer
7.1
Fault finding during commissioning
If a BA578E fails to function as a Timer during
commissioning the following procedure should be
followed:

Fault finding after commissioning
ENSURE PLANT SAFETY BEFORE
STARTING MAINTENANCE
If a BA578E fails after it has been functioning
correctly, the following table may help to identify the
cause of the failure.

If this procedure does not reveal the cause of the
fault, it is recommended that the instrument is
replaced.
Note:
If configuration changes are made to any of
the following functions the Timer will be
forced into a fail safe idle condition. This
stops the Timer in the state it achieves
when it has timed-up to
5et t
or timed-down
to
0000
. The Timer must be reset before it
can be restarted.
