In addition, the appliance is protected
against overheating. This switches off the
appliance to prevent overheating when
an ambient temperature of approx. 30° C
is reached. This temperature is reached
quickly if the appliance is located in a
confined space. Therefore, allow sufficient
space so that air can circulate.
If the appliance switches off after over-
heating, proceed as follows:
Switch off the main switch of the ap-
pliance and pull the plug out of the
mains socket. Allow the appliance and
surroundings to cool down.
Switch on the appliance again manu-
ally when the temperature of the appli-
ance and the surroundings has fallen.
NOTE
If the overheat protection switches

off the appliance, the appliance does
not
switch back on again automati-
cally - even after the surrounding
temperature has fallen. You must
switch the appliance back on
manu-
ally
.
If you manually switch on the ap-

pliance again and it switches back
off after a few seconds, neither the
temperature of the appliance nor its
surroundings has fallen sufficiently.
Startup
Plug the appliance into the mains
socket.
Insert the batteries (not supplied) into
the remote control according to cor-
rect polarity.
Operation and use
Switching the appliance on/off
To switch off the appliance, proceed as
follows:
Move the main ON/OFF switch on the
pedestal to the "
I
" position.
Press the
button on the control
panel (5) once to switch the appliance
to cold air. The blue indicator lamp
lights bars 1, 2 or 3 depending on the
airflow set.
Press the
button on the control
panel (5) twice to switch the appliance
to warm air. The three bars remain red
ALWAYS
.
To switch off the appliance, proceed as
follows:
If the appliance does not produce a
cold airflow, press the
button
twice. The blue indicator lamp extin-
guishes.
If the appliance produces a warm air-
flow, press the
button once. The
red indicator lamp extinguishes.
Move the main ON/OFF switch (3) on
the pedestal to the "
0
" position.
