The centrifuges are microprocessor-controlled, providing interactive oper-
ation. The instrument design features a brushless three-phase drive system,
automatic rotor overspeed identification system, program memory that
can repeat the previously used run parameters for a given rotor, and
a choice of acceleration/deceleration rates. The refrigerated models also
have temperature control systems. User messages alert the operator to
conditions that may need attention.
MODELS
The centrifuge is available in both nonrefrigerated and refrigerated
models. See Figure 1-1. See the

listed above for
the operating differences between the refrigerated and nonrefrigerated
models. Unless indicated otherwise, information in this manual is the
same for both models.
