5. Replacing the rechargeable battery (maintenance)
The capacity of the rechargeable battery decreases after a long period of use of
about one to two years. It then has to be properly replaced. Only a replaceable
battery of the same type may be used.
1.
Remove the four screws at the bottom of the light and separate the bottom
part from the top part.
2.
Unlock the battery compartment carefully and open it. Remove the re-
chargeable battery from its bracket.
3.
Insert the new rechargeable battery with the correct polarity. Replace the
housing in the reverse order.
Note: Used batteries have to be disposed of in an eco-friendly manner and should
not be disposed along with household waste.
6. Trouble shooting
If the LED solar string light does not switch on once it gets dark, please check
whether
1.
The switch is in the "ON" mode and not set to "OFF".
2.
The solar module is exposed to an external light source, such as a street
lamp that simulates daylight, which prevents the string light from being
switched on. Place the light in a darker spot.
3.
The polarity is reversed accidentally when replacing the battery.
4.
The rechargeable battery is defective or too weak.
7. Cleaning
Make sure that the solar unit is always clean and not dirty. Use only a soft cloth and
never use any aggressive cleaning agents which could damage the surface.
