using the

option and/or

to confirm (Refer to
‘Setting a VTBI’ or ‘Setting VTBI over Time’ section) .
10 . Enter or adjust the
RATE
(if necessary) using the
f
keys .
11 . Press
b
key to start the infusion .
INFUSING
will be displayed .
Note:
The green run LED will flash to show that the Pump is infusing .
Note:
If the BD Alaris™ Communication Engine is deployed at the facility and the Pump is not docked to a Workstation,
it is recommended to wait until the Pump connects via Wi-Fi prior to starting the infusion (Wi-Fi symbol is not
crossed out on the bottom right of the pump screen) . If infusion is started before connection to BD Alaris™
Communication Engine is established, infusion data may not be properly transmitted to other hospital systems .
If the infusion requires to be stopped immediately, the following actions may be applied:
• by pressing the
h
key (recommended action)
• by closing the roller clamp
• by opening the door
