Important installation points
- INCORRECT INSTALLATION MAY INVALIDATE THE GUARANTEE.
- THE WATER HEATER MUST BE INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED INSTALLER IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL
PLUMBING, BUILDING AND ELECTRICAL REGULATIONS. If in doubt, please contact the Sales Support
department for further details or clarification.
- The BAXI Stainless Steel Solar water heater MUST be fitted with a Pressure Relief Valve rated at 8 bar. FAILURE
TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE PRESSURE RELIEF WILL INVALIDATE ANY GUARANTEE AND LEAD TO A
DANGEROUS INSTALLATION.
- Where the inlet pressure exceeds 6.5 bar a Pressure Reducing Valve (set at max. 4.5 bar) should be fitted to the
inlet supply to the heater. This MUST NOT be fitted between the Pressure Relief Valve and the water heater.
- A Check (Non-return) Valve should be fitted to the inlet supply to the water heater. This MUST NOT be fitted
between the Pressure Relief Valve and the water heater.
- The BAXI Stainless Steel Solar water heaters are not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision and instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children
should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- The information contained within these instructions details how to connect the BAXI Stainless Steel Solar water
heater to a solar primary circuit. Other controls will be necessary to provide control of the solar thermal primary
system. Refer to the individual instructions supplied with the solar controls and ancillary equipment for specific
details of how to integrate them with the BAXI Stainless Steel Solar water heaters.
- Take care when moving the water heater. BAXI S.p.A. declines all responsibility for problems or malfunctions
resulting from the water heater being damaged during transport or handling or incorrect installation.
Installation – General
- National Wiring rules may contain restrictions concerning the installation of these units in certain areas, for example
Bathrooms
- The unit MUST be installed vertically.
- Enough space should be left around the unit for pipe connections and for access to controls and any safety valves
fitted. Refer to Diagram 2 to determine a suitable position for the heater.
- NOTE: Ensure the floor can support the full weight of the unit (see TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS) and that there
are no hidden services (electricity, gas or water) that may be damaged during installation.
- DO NOT install where the unit may freeze.
- If the mains water supply has a high proportion of suspended solids or impurities the installation of a suitable filter is
recommended.
