Comparing traces and exchanging data (TDR 510 only)

1. Open the main menu by pressing the or the key (depending on which menu you are currently
in).
2. Use the keys to navigate to the menu and press the SELECT key.
3. Press the key.
4. Connect the connection cable to the pair of cables to be located.
5. Use the tone probe to locate the cable. The nearer the probe is to the cable, the louder the tone.

6.1 Saving traces

When the desired trace is displayed, press the key.
The trace will be saved along with the date and time, velocity of propagation, cable impedance,
measurement range and cursor position. The saved number of the trace is displayed bottom right.
6.2 Calling up saved traces
1. Open the main menu by pressing the or the key (depending on which menu you are currently
in).
2. Use the keys to navigate to the menu and press the SELECT key.
The first saved trace will be displayed.
3. To display other saved traces, press the key.
6.3 Comparing traces
1. Open the main menu by pressing the or the key (depending on which menu you are currently
in).
2. Use the keys to navigate to the menu and press the SELECT key.
3. Use the keys to navigate to the desired trace.
4. To trigger a comparison measurement, press the SELECT key.
The saved trace is displayed as a dotted line, while the current trace is displayed as a solid line.
6.4 Deleting saved traces
It is not possible to reproduce deleted traces.
1. If you want to keep the traces for subsequent evaluation, you must export them to a PC.

3. Use the keys to navigate to the menu and press the SELECT key.
4. To delete all saved traces, press the key.
5. Press the SELECT key and follow the instructions in the display.
