Connections and control elements

1  Retainer slider to lock the inserted batteries
2  battery bays for two AA/AAA cells
3  Green LED
4  Red LED
5  MicroUSB socket (“INPUT”) for voltage/current supply of the charger
6  Type A USB socket (“OUTPUT”) for voltage/current output
7  Sliders for setting terminals for Li-ion battery
8  Battery terminals (polarity of the battery does not matter as it is automatically adjusted)

Operation

a) Connection

Connect the microUSB socket of the charger (“INPUT”) via the included USB cable to a USB

power adapter. The LEDs on the charger flash shortly and go off again. The charger is now

ready for operation.

Do not connect the USB cable to the USB port of a computer or USB hub, as the

current is too low for charging there. Besides, there is the risk of the USB port being

damaged.

b) LED indicator

c) Charging a NiMH/NiCd battery

•  If there is a Li-ion battery in the charger, then remove it first. The simultaneous charging of

NiMH/NiCd batteries and Li-ion batteries is impossible.

•  Insert two structurally identical batteries (same type, same manufacturer, same capacity) into

charging bays of the charger, observing the correct polarity. The polarity (plus/+ and minus/-)

is indicated in the charging bays and on the batteries.

It is impossible to charge a single NiMH/NiCd battery, since both charging bays must

be used simultaneously.

•  The batteries are checked and the charging process starts automatically after a short while.
•  Remove the batteries from the charger, once the charging process is over.

d) Charging a Li-ion battery

•  If there are NiMH/NiCd batteries in the charger, remove them first. The simultaneous charg-

ing of NiMH/NiCd batteries and Li-ion batteries is impossible.

•  Insert a Li-ion battery (1 cell = rated voltage 3.7 V, 2 cells = rated voltage 7.4 V) into the charg-

ing bay of the charger. The polarity does not matter, since the charger adjusts it automatically.
Changing positions of two battery terminals by the lateral sliders makes the charger univer-

sally applicable. The battery is held in place by the slidable cover of the charger equipped

with springs.

If the Li-ion battery has more than 2 terminals, note labels on the battery. The “+”

and “-” terminals must be used (as already explained above, polarity of the battery

terminals connected to the charger does not matter).

•  The battery is checked and the charging process starts automatically after a short while.
•  Remove the battery from the charger, once the charging process is over.

e) USB output

The charger has a USB voltage/current output (type A USB socket, “OUTPUT”). The input is

looped here.

  Please note:

The charging process is impossible, if a current of more than 500 mA is taken at the

USB output; the charging current is halved, if less than 500 mA is taken.

Care and cleaning

•  Always disconnect the product from the voltage/current supply and remove any inserted bat-

teries from the charger before cleaning.

•  Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
•  Never use abrasive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, since these

could damage the casing or even impair operation.

Disposal

a) Product

Electronic devices are recyclable and do not belong in the household waste. Dis-

pose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regula-

tions. You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the

environment.

b) Batteries

As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all spent batteries;

disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited.

Rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with the sym-

bol shown to indicate that disposal in household waste is forbidden. The symbols of

the critical heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the marking can

be seen on the batteries, e.g., underneath the rubbish bin symbol shown on the left).

You can return used rechargeable batteries free of charge, to any collection facility in your local

authority, to our stores or to any other store where rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
