Operation
a) On/off switch (7) settings
0: The sludge sucker is switched off.
I: The sludge sucker is switched on. Use this setting for dry vacuum cleaning.
II: Starts an automatic pond drainage program. The motor will start after approximately 10 seconds and
run for 30 seconds, after which the contents of the container will be emptied. This cycle will be repeated
until the sludge sucker is switched off.
b) Wet vacuum cleaning
Warning! Never use the appliance without the filtration foam.
• Connect the appliance to the mains (insert the plug into a mains socket).
• Turn the appliance on by moving the on/off switch (7) to II.
• Attach the extensions to the suction pipe as necessary.
• Move the nozzle around the floor of the pond in a slow, steady motion. For best results, rotate the nozzle
by 180° when cleaning preformed ponds and thin layers of sludge. The sludge sucker will switch off
automatically after 30 seconds and pause for 30 seconds before switching back on.
• Turn the appliance off after use and unplug it from the mains.
c) Dry vacuum cleaning
Warning! Always use the filter bag when using the sludge sucker as a dry vacuum cleaner.
• Turn the appliance on by moving the on/off switch (7) to I.
• Release the latch (4) and remove the motor housing (5).
• Place the filter bag (15) over the plastic inlet pipe inside the container.
• Replace the motor housing and lock it in place.
• Connect the appliance to the mains and turn it on using the on/off switch. The motor will stay switched on
until the appliance is turned off.
• Turn the appliance off after use (move the on/off switch to 0) and unplug it from the mains.
Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible cause
Solution
The appliance is not
working.
The outlet hose is not attached
properly.
The shut-off valve must be on the
open end of the outlet hose.
The height difference between
the surface of the pond and the
appliance is too great.
The appliance should be at the
same height as the surface of the
pond.
There is a drop in
performance.
There is dirt in the filtration foam,
suction pipe or suction hose.
Remove the dirt.
There is dirt on the shut-off valve
on the outlet hose, preventing it
from closing properly.
Remove the dirt.
The container does not
empty properly and the
appliance switches off
immediately after the
drainage process.
The contents of the container
cannot be emptied.
Ensure that there are no kinks in
the outlet hose.
If possible, place the outlet hose on
sloped surface. The tank should be
empty after the drainage process
is complete.
The container and outlet hose
are dirty.
Remove the dirt.
Suction is weak.
Adding extensions to the pipe
increases the frictional resistance,
causing the suction capacity to
drop.
To improve performance, keep the
suction pipe flat.
Cleaning
• Turn off the product before cleaning and disconnect it from the mains.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these could damage the
casing or even impair the functioning of the product.
• Use a damp, lint-free cloth to clean the container.
Maintenance
• Remove all pipes together with the motor housing.
• Remove the filtration foam and the dust bag. Rinse the container with a hose to remove sludge deposits
or other small dirt particles.
• Check that the float gauge on the air intake can move freely.
• After cleaning the appliance, check all components for signs of damage.
• Filter foam, valve rubber and filter bags are not covered by the warranty. Faulty components must be
replaced with original spare parts from the manufacturer.
Storage
• Ensure that the container is empty and clean and store the appliance in a dry, frost-free room out of the
reach of children.
