5.3 How to receive a RTP stream from an Barix Instreamer
For applications where an audio stream has to be sent
over the internal network (LAN) the Barix Instreamer
can be used as an audio encoder. Barix recommends the
use of the RTP protocol instead of the HTTP protocol.
In this example we will use port 4040 but you are not
restricted to this port number.
Instreamer Configuration
STEP 1
Configure your Instreamer to “RTP 0.0.0.0 : 4040” in the
first “stream to” entry (only the first supports BRTP) in
the Streaming configuration tab.
Exstreamer Configuration
STEP 1
Open your Web Browser
STEP 2
Enter the IP address of the Exstreamer (as announced
over the audio outputs by SonicIP) and press Enter.
Example: 192.168.0.12
STEP 3
Scroll to the section STREAMING SETTINGS. In the “1.
URL” field enter the following (replace the IP by the IP of
the Instreamer): rtp://192.168.0.33:4040
STEP 4
Select “500ms” for half a second in the “Buffer” selection.
STEP 5
