MAINTENANCE

3.1

ANNUAL MAINTENANCE

The appliance must be checked and cleaned annually by an authorised engineer.
This also applies to the chimney.

The annual maintenance consists of the following points:

l

Cleaning the main burner, pilot light and chimney liner(s)l/combustion air
supply.

l

Removing dust deposits using a vacuum cleaner.

l

Checking the gas, flue and combustion air supply route for leaks.

l

Checking the correct operation of the gas regulating block, thermocouple
circuit and the ignition of the main burner.

l

Checking the operation of the security system.

4.

FAULTS

Possible reasons for the gas fire going out are:

Operation of the security system due to flue gas escape.

Malfunction of the security system. Check by means of testing.

l

Insufficient gas pressure.

l

The pilot light is either dirty or defective.

l

Thermocouple voltage is too low. This is usually caused by insufficient heating
at the tip of the thermocouple by the pilot light.

l

Dirty electrical contacts in the thermo-electrical system; for example, the
thermocouple connection, T.T.B. wiring and/or connections of the security
system.
