8.1 MEMORY EXPANSION
The PROVIT 4000 Industrial PC is equipped with SIMM slots for SIMM memory modules. The PROVIT 4000
Industrial PCs are standardly equipped with the following amount of working memory:

Working Memory 4 MBytes 4 MBytes 8 MBytes 8 MBytes
(DRAM) (max. 16 MBytes) (max. 16 MBytes) (max. 64 MBytes) (max. 128 MBytes)
The maximum amount of working memory is shown in parentheses. The following SIMM memory modules are
presently available from B&R:
SIMMs from different manufacturers may not be mixed inside of a bank!
Which module sizes can be used with each other is described in the motherboard description.
The memory expansion modules are to be inserted into the designated SIMM slots on the motherboard. To get
to the SIMM slots, the following steps must be taken:
- Pull power plug
- Remove display unit

Remove the four M5 nuts shown
- Pull display unit out
