2.1 Intended use
The processor unit BIS U-6026 is a component of the
identification system BIS U. Within the identification
system, it is used to connect to a higher-level controller
(PLC, PC); it may only be used in the industrial sector.
This description applies to devices of the following series:
– For operation in the European Union

This UHF system consists of a processor unit and
antennas according to specifications and may only be
operated within the specified countries subject to all
applicable national regulations and standards:
– When using the UHF system in the European Union,
the provisions in ETSI EN 302 208 apply.
– When using the UHF system in the USA, the directives
of the FCC, Part 15 B and C apply.
– When using the UHF system in Canada, the directives
of the IC, RSS-247 apply.
Flawless function in accordance with the specifications in
the technical data is ensured only when using original
Balluff accessories. Use of any other components will void
the warranty.
The processor unit may only be used with an approved
power supply (see Technical data on page 13).
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the
party responsible for compliance could void the user’s
authority to operate the equipment.
All approvals and certifications shall be null and void if
components are used that are not part of the identification
system BIS U and if components are used that were not
expressly approved by Balluff.

complies with Section 15 of the FCC Rules and license-
free RSS standards of Industry Canada. The following two
conditions apply to operation:
– this device may not cause interference
– this device must accept any interference, including
interference that may cause undesired operation of the
device
2.2 Reasonably foreseeable misuse
The products are not intended for the following
applications and areas and must not be used there:
– In safety-oriented applications in which personal safety
depends on the device function
– In explosive atmospheres
– In food applications
2.3 Explanation of the warnings
Always observe the warnings in these instructions and the
measures described to avoid hazards.
The warnings used here contain various signal words and
are structured as follows:
