8.1 Troubleshooting

The controller does not receive any
position information.
The required operating voltage is not

No IO-Link process data is transferred
in battery mode.

Check if there is any voltage and
that the BDG is correctly
connected.
The sensor is not properly connected.

Check pin assignment and correct

Display or LED does not light up. The required operating voltage is not
available.
An external power supply is required for
the display unit to function.

Check if there is any voltage and
that the BDG is correctly
connected.
The display is switched off via IO-Link
parameterization.

Change the Power Display Mode
parameter (see configuration guide).
The numerical display does not show
any position information.
The BDG version does not have a

8.2 Repair
Repairs to the product may only be performed by Balluff.
If the product is defective, contact our Service Center.
8.3 Disassembly
Disassembly is performed in reverse order to assembly.

Loosen set screws.
2.
Remove sensor from shaft.
NOTICE
Damage to the machine
If the cylindrical pin falls into the machine during removal
and remains there, this can cause damage to the
machine.

Before switching on the equipment or the machine
part again, make sure that the cylindrical pin is
present and has not fallen into the equipment.
