ESSENTIAL USER GUIDE
6 LED INDICATORS:
o MAINS - illuminates when charging via AC
o VEHICLE - illuminates when charging via the BLUE Anderson
o SOLAR/EXTERNAL - illuminates when using UNREGULATED solar via the RED Anderson only
o BOOST - standard operating LED - will remain illuminated during operation
o FLOAT - illuminates when connected to a charging source
o FLAT BATTERY - illuminates as a warning for both LOW and HIGH voltage
LOW VOLTAGE ALARM:
An audible alarm will sound when the battery voltage drops below 12v and the low voltage shutdown activates when
voltage drops below 11.0v. If shutdown activates - turn the PowerTop on and place on charge.
HIGH VOLTAGE ALARM:
An audible alarm will sound when the battery is overcharged, the high voltage alarm sounds above 15v and the high
voltage shutdown activates when your battery is charged above 15.2v. If this occurs, remove charging source and
switch the PowerTop off and on again.

SOLAR CHARGING (SEE PAGE 9-10)
Don’t plug in any solar panel greater than 300 watts and having a maximum exceeding 18 volts DC in full sun.
VEHICLE CHARGING (SEE PAGE 10-11)
If installing into a vehicle - make sure you know what alternator your car has, as this determines how the charging
setup is wired. A standard alternator is wired into the BLUE Anderson socket.
A “smart” or electronic-alternator is wired through a DC-DC charger into the GREY Anderson socket. Vehicles made
after 2011 often have smart-alternators. A suitable DC to DC charger for this hookup is the CTEK D250SA

BEFORE USE
Just like your mobile phone,
the PowerTop should be fully
charged before use - use the AC
power cord provided. Keep your
PowerTop charged above 12.4
to maintain battery at optimum
capacity
