Blade is dull.
Replace the blade.
Blade Wanders or
Does Not Cut Straight
Blade is too narrow.
Buildup of metal chips on the
wheels. Replace with a wider blade.
Clean chips from wheels. Adjust
or replace chip brush.
Blade Cuts (Rough)
Too much speed or feed.
Blade is too coarse. Reduce speed and feed.
Replace with a finer blade.
Blade is Twisting
Cut is causing the blade to bind.
Too much blade tension. Decrease the feed pressure.
Decrease the blade tension.
Unusual Wear on
Side/Back of Blade
Blade guides worn.
Blade guides not adjusted
properly.
Blade guide bearing bracket is
loose.
Replace blade guides.
Adjust as per operator’s manual.
Tighten bracket
Motor Running Hot
Blade tension is too high.
Blade is too coarse for work.
(especially pipes).
Blade is too fine for work.
(Heavier, soft, materials).
V-belt(s) too tight.
Idler wheel needs lubrication Reduce tension on blade.
Use finer blade.
Use coarser blade.
Follow proper belt tightening
procedure. (page 36)
Grease bearing / oil shaft
No air at Nozzle
Air pump damaged.
Air inlet hose plugged.
V-belt not driving pump Replace air pump.
Unplug air hose.
