on and off, replace the bulb on the green indicator
light. If the input numbers are coming on and off,
then the photo cell needs to be replaced.
Green-ON Red-OFF
Blue-ON Yellow-ON
• The middle or upper photo cell is not blocked
with ice which has illuminated the blue light
showing that the bin is calling for ice.
• The yellow light is illuminated showing that the
ice maker is making ice.
• In 30 to 50 minutes you should hear ice fall with
the Hoshizaki ice makers , and every 8 minutes
with the Arctic Temp Ice Makers

• The yellow light should become illuminated in
5 minutes or less. While ice is being made, the
yellow light will become illuminated for 3 to 5
minutes at a time. If yellow light stays off over 10
minutes, check the ice maker for problems .

The ice bin is empty and making ice or i
f you determine
that you have not sold or have only sold a small amount of ice
recently, you likely need to clean the Ice Maker and the float
Valve.

• After cleaning the ice maker and the float
valve, monitor the ice maker for up to 3
Hours, the Yellow light may come on and off
intermittently. You should hear ice fall within
55 minutes .
• If you do not hear ice fall:
1. Remove the Ice Maker panels up to view the
ice plates and note if ice is being made. If in
30 minutes you do not observe the ice maker
producing ice the, check the PLC screen to see if
E2 is displayed, indicating that the float valve is
showing full.
2. If the PLC screen shows
E 2,
check your water
supply and confirm that water is entering the
vending machine.
3. If water is entering the vending machine, check
to see if the float valve is stuck in the
Below Full
state.
4. If the float valve is stuck in the
Below Full
state,
then soak the float valve in a calcium dissolving
solution such as “scale away “ or “ Lime Away
“ solution for 2 hours and rinse. Reinstall and
retest.

This is related to the timing portion of the PLC .
Usually during or after a vend transaction the light
will be off. The Green light goes off at the start of the
vend and will not come back on until the vend has
completed or after a 45 second reset .
