MODEL 300 COMBUSTION ANALYZER
3-4
Instruction 24-9223
4. Press CAL key to start calibration cycle. The following should be seen:
• Left display show CAL.
• Middle display show millivolt output of O
2
cell.
Should the cell’s
output fall outside acceptable limits, an
E*O2
error will occur (Refer
to Section 3.5).
• Right display counts down the calibration time starting at 60
seconds.
5. At the end of the calibration cycle, the left display will either show
FUEL, or flash an error code.
If FUEL is shown, repeatedly press the FUEL key until the fuel being
burned is shown on the left display. See Table 2 in the front of this
manual for a list of the seven fuels available for this section. If an
error code is shown refer to Section 3.5.
6. Insert probe into the stack sample point (Sections 3.2 and 3.3).
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging standard probe assembly, due to excessive
heat, remove probe from stack at or before the prescribed time
listed in Table 1 in the front of this manual. Allow probe to cool
before reinserting it back into the stack.
7. Press RUN key to start the efficiency test. Observe that the Pump On
LED is lit and the word RUN momentarily appears in the left display
before the display switches to show stack temperature.
The combustion analyzer now continuously monitors the combustion
process for as long as the analyzer is running. Use each display’s
associated SELECT key to observe the following:
• Left display shows either stack temperature, carbon monoxide level,
or combustion analyzer errors.
• Middle display shows either % oxygen, % excess air, or millivolt
output of O
2
cell.
• Right display shows either % efficiency, % stack loss, or % CO
2
, as
long as O
2
is below 15% and/or stack temperature is below 2300°F
(1260°C).
