REPLACEMENT OF THE MAINS SUPPLY LEAD
IMPORTANT: Unplug the clipper from the mains supply.
• Lay the clipper, black underside downwards, on a firm, flat surface.
• Remove the upper body housing by unscrewing the 3 cross-headed
screws that secure it.
• Carefully ease the protective cord guard upwards and out of its
recess in the bottom end of the clipper - this will expose the brown
(Live) and blue (Neutral) wires of the supply lead (the ends of these
are both covered with a black insulating sleeve).
• Trace these wires to two screws, one that is holding the blue wire to
the body of the clipper and the other that holds the brown wire to the
lower switch terminal.
• Remove these screws, noting the position of the wiring. On doing
this, the blue wire is released along with a ‘star’ washer and a wire
from the motor (*).
• Lift away the old lead and discard (in an environmentally friendly
manner), taking care to cut off the plug for safety reasons.
• Only use replacement leads (with fitted plug) designed for use with
this clipper. These can be obtained through the Conair Customer Care
Line (refer to ‘UK After Sales Service’ section for further information).
Use of other lead types would invalidate the guarantee and could be
a hazard.
• Fit the new lead by reversing the above instructions, being careful
that the rubber, protective cord guard is fully engaged in its recess
at the bottom end of the lower body housing and to steer the wires
through the inner body housing to prevent trapping. Make sure that
the wire from the motor (* above) is also refitted in its correct place.
• Refit the upper body housing by firmly tightening the 3 cross-headed
retaining screws.
• The clipper is now ready to use again.
POWER SCREW
The power screw permits you to adjust the power of your clipper. You
may find it necessary to adjust it to the power supply in your salon
regularly to maintain an optimum performance.
