Preparing and installing the device
To activate the unit, connect the power cable to a suitable power outlet. The unit can be used directly after it
is plugged in to a wall outlet or other power source.
Press the on/off switch until it is in the 'ON' position. A lamp on the button will light up, indicating that the
device is active and ready for use.
The potentiometer on the rear of the device can be adjusted to increase or decrease the strobe speed.
Installing the system in a standing position
The Flash 150 is mainly used for party lighting and can be placed directly on a flat surface such as a table or
counter. Please ensure that the device is positioned safely and the power cord is installed properly. Accidents
may happen if the power cord is hanging freely, as it could be pulled by small children, for instance, causing
the device to fall down. Install the device securely and contact your local dealer or a skilled technician for the
best installation advice for permanent and mobile setups.
Installing the fixture in a hanging position
The Flash 150 is equipped with a mounting bracket, which makes it possible to suspend the device from a
ceiling, or mount it to a wall or beam. Mounting hardware is not included and available at your local hardware
store. Please ensure that the right mounting hardware is selected for the material. For example, wooden
beams require different hardware than a brick wall.
A safety cable eyebolt is available and must be used to secure the device if the device is installed in a
hanging position. A safety cable is not included and can be purchased at your local dealer. If the primary
mounting hardware should fail for any reason, the device must not be able to fall more than 30 cm and the
safety cable should be able to hold 10x the weight of the unit.
Light source
The Flash 150 uses a 150 Watt discharge tube to create the white pulsating beams of light. The lamp can not
be replaced by the user. Please ensure that the lamp can cool down after use, before the device is
transported. If the device is used in a fixed installation, it can be disconnected from the power source or
turned off. There are no fans installed to cool the lamp, therefore a standby setting before shut down is not
required.
Do not look at the light source of the device from short distance when it is in use. The human eye will adjust
to the bright beams and possibly create temporary blind spots. These will disappear after a short period of
time and will not cause permanent damage to the eye or permanent loss of vision, but can cause
disorientation and inconvenience.
Optics
The Flash 150 is equipped with a powerful discharge strobe lamp, producing bright white beams. Through a
reflector, all light intensity is aimed in one direction (the front of the device). A glass lens is installed in front of
the lamp, providing protection from hazardous electrical shocks. If the glass is broken, the unit should not be
used anymore and must be inspected and/or repaired by a skilled technician.
Spare parts
This unit has no user-serviceable parts inside. When any damage to internal components occurs, contact
your local dealer or a specialised technician in order to repair the fixture.
Cleaning:
Clean the housing of the fixture frequently with a damp cloth, to remove dust and/or dirt.
WARNING:
Always disconnect the fixture from your wall outlet or other power supply and let the fixture dry
before reconnecting it. This prevents possible electric shocks.
The lenses can be cleaned with a non-aggressive glass cleaning solution, but this is not recommended. Ayra
