General use

DMX distribution

This unit is designed to create several digital DMX outputs by copying and spreading the main DMX signal,
provided by a DMX lighting console.

The unit is capable of splitting the main signal into 8 different outputs. Each output contains the same data as
provided from your DMX lighting console.

NOTE:

It is recommended to place this DMX distribution device directly after your DMX console. When you

choose to place it further in the DMX-line, please pay attention that the number of previous connected
devices is no more than 31.

DMX connection

Every output of the DMX distributor has a 3-pin XLR connector. Please pay attention when you wish to
connect 5-pin connector units, as you need an adapter cable or plug. To create your own adapters, follow the
schedule below or contact your local dealer for prefab adapter cables.

Every output has its own LED indicators for status indication, so you can spot any failures easily. Status
indication is available for the positive and negative data-pins.

NOTE:

Do not connect more than 32 fixtures to any DMX outlet of the distributor. Doing otherwise may

cause signal transmission problems.

NOTE:

Ayra recommends the use of a DMX terminator on every line with connected fixtures. This prevents

strange signal reflections that may cause unwanted behavior from your lighting fixtures. A DMX terminator is
a XLR plug with a 120 Ohm resistor placed between the positive and negative data pins as described above.

DMX input and thru-signal

A DMX-input is provided at the side of the unit, behind the mounting bracket on the left side. There is also a
DMX thru connection situated, for optional linking of multiple devices. Also this output can be used to connect
a DMX terminator for your main signal.

Power supply

The unit has its own internal power transformer, with a separate power cable (included). The unit needs to be
connected to a 100-240V AC, 50/60 Hz power source, and must be earthed for your own safety.

Rack mount kit

The rack mount kit can be installed by mounting the brackets to the device with screws. When finished, the
device is ready to be installed in a 19 inch flight case with sliding profile. The unit will need about 2.5 HE to
be mounted. Spare blind panels to close any gaps in your rack are available at your local dealer.
