TROUBLESHOOTING
Tunnel Does Not Reach Desired Temperature:
1.)
Check that the appropriate voltage is being supplied to the tunnel.
2.)
Check the distance between the tunnel and conveyor. Should this distance be
more than 3” and the ambient room temperature is below 65 degrees Fahrenheit,
baffles may be needed to contain the hot air and reduce the amount of ambient
room temperature air from being drawn into the tunnel.
3.)
Check the elements for damage. Remove the outer and inner end caps at the
vented end of the heat tunnel. Using a multi-meter, check the resistance of each
element. The 220VAC element should measure between 12.9 to 13.1 Ohms. The
480VAC element should measure 62.7 to 63.3 Ohms.
4.)
Contact Axon for further assistance.
Tunnel Does Not Heat Up:
1.)
Check that the setpoint is properly entered into the temperature controller.
2.)
Make sure the Heat-Up/Cool-Down Switch is in the heat-up position.
3.)
Observe that the red output LED in the upper right hand corner of the
Temperature Controller is illuminated.
4.)
Observe the red LED indicator on the Solid State Relay. When the tunnel is in
the Heat-Up mode, the LED should be illuminated.
5.)
Measure the output voltage on the Temperature Controller (pins 7 & 8) to the
Solid State Relay. The voltage should read approximately 12 VDC.
6.)
Measure the output voltage of the Solid State Relay. The voltage should equal the
voltage supplied to the tunnel.
7.)
Call Axon for further assistance.
Tunnel Does Not Cool Down:
1.)
Check that the Heat-Up/Cool-Down Switch is in the cool-down position.
2.)
Observe that the red output LED in the upper right hand corner of the
Temperature Controller is off.
3.)
Observe the red LED indicator on the Solid State Relay. When the tunnel is in
the Cool-Down mode, the LED should be off.
4.)
Measure the output voltage on the Temperature Controller (pins 7 & 8) to the
Solid State Relay. The voltage should read 0 VDC.
5.)
Measure the output voltage of the Solid State Relay. The voltage should be
0 VAC.
6.)
Call Axon for further assistance.
