Field of application:
The devices are only suitable for amplifying and distributing radio and
television signals or multimedia signals inside the house! If a device is used
for other purposes, no warranty is given.
Product description:
The unicable multiswitches are operated on a Quattro or QUAD LNB and
supply all channels of the receiving satellite to each of the up to 6 receivers.
For this, the programs are converted into defined frequencies. The following
transmission frequencies are used to convert the programs for the maximum
number of 6 receivers which can be connected:
1280 MHz, 1382 MHz, 1484 MHz, 1586 MHz, 1688 MHz, 1790 MHz. It is
useful to assign the highest frequency to the receiver which is mounted
closest to the multiswitch, the second highest frequency will be assigned to
the next receiver and so on in order to compensate the frequency-dependent
cable attenuation or the through loss of the sockets.
Only receivers fully compliant with EN 50494 can be operated. Each receiver
must be set to the unicable solution.
As specified in the user manual of the respective receiver manufacturer, each
receiver is assigned its own user identification and its own transmission
frequency. This data should be noted, to simplify setting the receiver, for
example when changing the receiver later on.
Constant output level due to AGC
At an input level of 60...90 dBµV, 88 dBµV, controlled by AGC (automatic
gain control), are always available at the user output. The terrestric path is
passive.
Grounding, Mounting and Power supply
4
To avoid dangerous power surges (e.g. risk of fire and danger of life)
all devices must be grounded. Use the screw terminal at the device (1).
4
Use the included mounting screws and the mounting holes of the
device (2).
4
Important: Please make sure, that possible standards and safety
regulations regarding electrical grounding must be kept.We would
therefore recommend to use QEW Earthing angles
HF connection
4
Connect the SAT inputs of the single-cable multiswitch to the LNB
outputs of your SAT reception antenna. Connect the output signals of
a terrestrial amplifier or a CATV house connection amplifier to the
terrestrial input.
4
Connect the lateral output of the single-cable multiswitch to the
antenna sockets. When selecting the antenna sockets, make sure they
are fitted with a diode-decoupled DC continuity. Use screened coaxial
cables with F connectors. Suitable cables and plugs can be found in
the current AXING catalogue or at www.axing.com.
4
Connect the trunk outputs of each single switch or those of the last
multi switch in a cascade to the DC-decoupled termination
resistances included in the delivery. .
Cascades:
4
If you connect cascade units to the single cable multiswitch, you must
connect them using F/F Quickfix adapters CFA 4-01 (3).
4
Terminate the outputs of the last cascade unit with the enclosed
terminating resistors CFA 11.00(4).
4
Make sure that the input levels specified above are reached to
guarantee that 88 dBµV are always available at each user output.
Remove of the power supply
When there is no mains close to the multi-switch SES 556-19, the power
supply can be removed and connected with an appropriate coaxial cable
(max. length 10 m).
4
Remove the F bridge (6) between the power supply and the polarization
switch.
4
Remove the power supply by pressing down the little nose of the base
plate (7) and push the power supply to the right side; then you can take
it off.
4
Fix the power supply close to a power socket. Use the included screws
and fix the power supply at the foreseen mounting holes (top left and
bottom right )
4
Connect the DC-output of the power supply (F-female connector ) with
the
DC-input of the multiswitch (8). Use an appropriate coaxial cable with
F-connectors.
Multifunction LED:
The SES 56-09/556-09 comes with a multifunction LED ,
which shows different operation modes with different
colours.
a
green = in operation
a
yellow = stand by (no receiver connected respc.
on)
a
red = LNB short-circuit (check the cabling and
rectify the error)
