Instant fittings seal to the tube with an "O" ring inside the fitting. The tube must be fully pushed into the
fitting for the seal to be made. If a leak persists, the "O" ring in the fitting or the scratched tubing
segment may need replacing. The "O" rings used are #108 for 1/4" OD tubing, #110 for 3/8" OD tubing,
and #112 for 1/2" OD tubing. EPDM rubber is recommended.
Leaks caused by a fractured tubing fitting or from part failure will require replacement of the part or
fitting.
SUBMERGED PUMP ASSEMBLY
The submerged pump assembly must be removed from the system to perform any servicing on either
the pump or motor.
Removal Instructions:
Turn off electrical power at source. Remove front cover and top control cover.
Remove the two small screws that hold on the cover of the pump wiring junction box. Remove the wire
nuts from the three wires. Then use an adjustable wrench to loosen the tubing nut on the electrical feed
through. Pull the tubing nut, the SS ring, and the ferrule off the electrical feed through tubing. Loosen
the threaded metal nut that secures the box. Remove the junction box. Push the wire leads from the
pump mostly back into the pipe nipple on the pump housing and secure with tape.
Remove the ground wire from the pump torque clamp. Unbolt one of the small angle brackets that
sandwich the torque rod that extends from the black aluminum torque clamp. Loosen the 1/4-20 clamp
nut and rotate the clamp. Then unthread the torque rod from the clamp.
Undo the upper most tubing nut on the SS pipe that is the pump discharge. Undo the tubing to the
pump vent valve from the instant fitting on the top side of the pump housing.
Remove the pump inlet tubing assembly from the bottom of the pump by undoing the compression nut.
Remove the product return tubing assembly (including the check valve & regulator). Loosen and
remove the other compression fittings to the pump inlet manifold. Remove the manifold.
Now loosen the two stainless steel band clamps that hold the pump casing to the frame brackets with a
5/16 inch nut driver. Bend the ends of the clamp and tuck to the sides.
With some difficulty, the entire pump assembly can now be pulled out and down from the cabinet. Two
people can do it more easily. Use care not to damage anything during removal. The product pressure
gauge can be removed to give a little more room. Prop the pump assembly up against something if left
upright, or lay it on the ground.
