PRIOR TO USE
Assembly
This log splitter is equipped with two oper-
ation handles that are designed to protect
operator’s hands. Control lever guard
must be assembled before the log splitter
is used.
OPERATION
Prepare the logs for splitting
Prepare the logs for splitting. This splitter
accommodates logs up to 106 cm in
length. This log splitter has three support
table positions for splitting 58 cm, 77 cm
or 106 cm long logs. Insert the support
table in position nearest to your log length
and secure the support table with the lock-
ing hook.
Open the air bleeder
Open the air bleeder. Loosen the oil tank cover a few turns whenever the splitter is being
used and retighten this cover when you have finished. To apply a thin coat of grease to the
surfaces of the ram before operation will lengthen the durability of the ram.
Check the two-handed operation
Check the operation of the two-hands control every time before a new use as follows: En-
gage both handles and hold them down at the same time until the ram slides down. If the
machine is duly set the ram stops upon releasing of just one handle. The ram must return to
its original position when both handles are released. Make sure that both handles return to
their normal position when released.
Set the splitting length
The ram travel is by default set to the maximum log capacity. When you start the engine, the
ram slides automatically up to the maximum position. If the chunks you are splitting are
much shorter, adjust the ram travel: Let the ram slide down to the desired splitting height
and release one of the handles. Shut the engine off. Engage one of the handles in order to
prevent the ram from returning to its original position. Release the control rod nut and lift
the rod as much as possible in order to reduce the ram travel. Tighten the nut.
Splitting logs
Place a log onto the splitter. Place the log
onto the support table vertically and sit-
ting flat on the support table. Be sure the
wedge and support table will contact the
log squarely on the ends. Never attempt to
split a log at an angle. Adjust the log
