4.1 Transport
4.1.1 Vehicle Transport
For longer journeys, it’s best to transport
the Awake RÄVIK in a car or other personal
vehicle.
Depending on your location, public
transport authorities may not allow
oversized luggage and using public
transport has an added risk of damaging
the board and/or its accessories.
When transporting the board and its
accessories in a personal vehicle, always
secure the board bag with straps so that
they do not move during transit.
The board bag may also be transported on
a roof rack or in a roof equipment box. In
these cases, it is imperative to use your
protective bag and adequate securing
equipment.
During transport special care should be
given to the BP. Always make sure that it is
securely strapped down.
If the BP is in any way dropped or
scratched - do not use or charge the BP
- contact Awake for an assessment of it
before doing anything with it.
In the event of a vehicle accident, the
Battery cells within the BP may be
ruptured, causing the release of flames
and toxic gases. Any suspicion that the BP
has been ruptured in an accident should
immediately be reported to emergency
services attending the scene.
In case of fire, cover the BP with a
fire blanket or use a fire distinguisher
recommended for lithium ion BP fires.
NEVER USE WATER.
4.1.2 Air Transport
The BP uses lithium-ion Battery cells. They
are therefore considered as hazardous
goods and are only eligible for air freight in
accordance with the UN 38.3-certification.
Customers, resellers, distributors or
any other party are therefore prohibited
by international law from transporting,
shipping or sending the BPs via any form
of air transport/freight/shipping.
