downloading images, rebooting, and so on).

Global configuration mode:
In the Global Configuration mode (also referred to as
config mode), you can set and display general configurations for the switch such as IP
address, SNMP parameters, Telnet access, and VLANs.
• Interface configuration mode:
In the Interface Configuration mode (also referred to as config-if mode), you can configure
parameters for each port or VLAN, such as speed, duplex mode, and rate-limiting.
It is possible to move between command modes on a limited basis. This is explained in the
Common Procedures section of this document.
