The Avaya 3902 Digital Deskphone has one accessory port. The Avaya 3903, 3904, and 3905
have two accessory ports. The plug-in cartridge allows the Avaya 3900 Series sets to use the
following accessories:
• ATA
• external alerter and recording interface
• personal directory PC utility (Avaya 3904 and 3905 Digital Deskphones)
• full duplex handsfree cartridge (Avaya 3904 Release 3)
The Avaya 3901 Digital Deskphone set does not support the ACM.
Key-based Access Expansion Module (KBA)
The KBA has 22 keys which function as additional keys to the physical and self-labeled
programmable feature keys on the Avaya 3900 Series Digital Deskphones. You can use these
additional keys as DN or feature keys. The sets and modules attach in such a way as they look
and feel like one integrated unit. Only the Avaya 3904 and 3905 Digital Deskphones use the
KBA.
There are 32 keys on the Avaya 3904 and 3905 Digital Deskphones. The Avaya 3904 and
3905 sets support one or two KBAs with 22 keys each. With one KBA, the key numbers are
from 1 to 54 with the first key mapping to key number 33. With two KBAs, the key numbers are
from 1 to 76, with the first key on the second KBA mapping to Key 55.
You cannot combine the KBA with the Display-based Expansion Module (DBA).
You provision the KBA through SERVORD commands.
