ASCII Protocol
ASCII protocol allows SC MASTER 6/16 to be conveniently
integrated into comprehensive multimedia installations con-
trolled by media control systems.
The serial port (RS232-IN) does not only allow shows to be
started but also the entire SC Net system including all its
connected modules to be controlled via SC Net commands.
The special thing is that these ASCII commands can be evalu-
ated in addition to the cues of a running show.
No initialization is necessary before ASCII commands can be
sent to the control unit. The communications protocol is 9600
Baud, 8 data bits, no parity bit and one stop bit.
ASCII command identification "a" (= 61 hex, 97 dec) must be
sent as first character. Command end identification "#" (= 23
hex, 35 dec) must be sent as last character. No spaces are
allowed. The maximum time interval between two characters
must not exceed 20 ms, otherwise the command is ignored.
Note:
If you want to control the SC MASTER 6/16 via Wings
Platinum or the SC TouchControl you can use a driver, which
does not require any protocol knowledge.
