Operating limits and warnings
This geared motor has been specially studied to motorize unbalanced rolling gates for industrial use. Before
installation, check the smooth sliding of the rolling gate. Check its good conditions and the parachute system.
Furthermore, check all the other parts which are subject to wear if the rolling gate has not been installed recently. The
above operations are essential for a safe installation and a reliable actuator.
Installation
Thanks to its versatility, the geared motor can be assembled not only on the rightside or leftside of the door, but it can
also be horizontally positioned, on the PS.ME supporting shelf, or vertically positioned, by fitting the base directly to
wall (fig. 2). In any case use a fitting system suited to the geared motor weight.
The geared motor is designed to activate the door cord-winding shaft directly. This shaft should have 30 or 40 mm
diameter and be provided with a key slot.
Shafts to be welded are also available with key (PS.AL30 Ø 30mm - PS.AL40 Ø 30mm).
On these shafts it is also possible to weld washers PS.RO, available in various dimensions, for the direct fitting onto
the tube of the cord-winding shaft.
For fitting proceed as follows:
• Check that, in case of fitting onto the shelf, the distance between the cord-winding shaft and the surface to which
the system must be fitted ranges between 185 and 260 mm or is 80 mm, in case of direct fitting to wall (see Fig.
2).
• Weld the shelf or the bracket to the surface or fix them by means of screws.
• Insert the geared motor in the cord-winding shaft by interposing the “C” key.
• If the a shelf is used, lock the geared motor to the shelf itself by using the “V” screws and the “D” nut (as per Fig.
4).
In case of vertical installation (without supporting shelf), the position of the release lever must be changed (Fig. 3):
1) Remove the “V” screw
2) Move the lever to the position shown and tighten the “V” screw
3) The plastic cover holes can be opened by pressure to allow the passing through of the release and the chain.
Adjustment of limit switches
The geared motor is complete with 6 adjustment cams which are indicated as follows (Fig.5):
1 black cam
= available for accessories (AUX1- n.c. contact - 3A - 24Vdc/ac max)
2 yellow cam
= available for accessories (AUX1- n.o. contact - 3A - 24Vdc/ac max)
3 black cam
= Closing safety
4 red cam
= Closing limit switch
5 yellow cam
= Opening safety
6 blue cam
= Opening limit switch
To adjust the cams proceed as follows (Fig. 5):
•
Keeping the “F” nut tightened, loosen the ”D” nut in order to allow the cams turning with a very limited friction.
• Manually move the door until it is almost completely closed and adjust the red cam.
• Repeat the operation while opening the door and adjust the blue cam.
• Position the yellow cam so that it is activated slightly delayed with respect to the blue cam.
• Position the black cam so that it is activated slightly delayed with respect to the red cam.
• Power the automatic system and operate it (if the first operation is closing, invert the motor power wires), by
adjusting the closure cam (red) micrometrically as per Fig. 6.
• Slightly tighten the ”D” nut.
