Faders
Although many different input signals can be wired to the console, the
console only has 12 FADERS (plus two PHONE FADERS, described later).
In order for the audio from an input to be heard in any of the main outputs it
must first be SELECTED by a FADER. This process is explained in detail in
a later section of the manual.
For all 12 faders, the switched meters, and the Control Room and Studio
monitors, it is possible to have no source assigned by dialing up the selection
OFF. See the section on selecting sources for details.
Two of the inputs are configured as PHONE FADERS. No other inputs can
be selected for those faders, and those inputs cannot be selected for any of the
12 normal faders.
Outputs
The console main outputs include two main stereo buses (PGM and AUD),
two main mono buses (MONO1 and MONO2), two mono caller feed mix-
minus buses (CF1 and CF2), and two general purpose mono mix-minus buses
(MXM1 and MXM2).
Monitor outputs include a stereo Control Room output, two stereo outputs
for the Studio section (one is pre-fade, which means it is not affected by the
Studio level control), a mono pre-fade cue output (not affected by the cue level
control), a mono talkback output, a stereo pre-fade line level headphone
output (not affected by the headphone level control), and a stereo headphone
jack.
Post-fade cue (controlled by the cue level control) feeds the internal
speaker in the meterbridge, and also provides the cue signal used to interrupt
Control Room and headphones, if such interrupt has been enabled by the
installer.
The PGM and AUD buses have separate analog and digital outputs. The
remainder of the console outputs are analog.
Mutes and Tallies
The console has two mute systems, one to mute the control room output
and one to mute the studio output. The console also has two tally outputs. The
first tally output is used to drive user-provided external circuitry that will in
turn operate the control room on air indicator, and is called the ON AIR
TALLY. It is automatically activated whenever the control room mute is
activated. Thus, turning on any module that activates the control room mute
also turns on the on the on air tally. The second tally is independent of muting,
and can be used as a studio on air tally, as a skimmer control, or for any other
application requiring a logic signal that depends on the ON status of one or
more inputs.
