TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
SAFETY SYSTEM “ten”
Your vehicle is equipped with the unique
Audi safety system "ten"
1)
which
pretensions the safety belt for the driver
and front seat passenger.
The system functions automatically to
reduce slack in the safety belt webbing
and further limit forward occupant
movement in frontal collisions severe
enough to cause a relative rearward
displacement of the engine/transmission
unit.
The rearward movement of the engine/
transmission unit occurring in such col-
lisions is transmitted by means of speci-
ally routed cables to the front safety belt
retractors and used to pretension the
belts.

In order to take advantage of this system
and the potential it offers to further
reduce the risk of serious injury in frontal
collisions, the driver and front seat
passenger must always properly wear
their safety belts.
Always wear your safety belts when
the vehicle is in motion!
