4.3
Electrically heated temperature control unit
The Temperature Control Unit (TCU) for use with Theta is a computer controlled temperature control
unit. The TCU consists of an electronics control box and a sample compartment surrounded by a
ceramic insulator. Plug in the serial cable to be connected between the control unit and the Theta.
Connect
the serial cable to the port of the
control unit and then to the
Ext 1/0
(see Figure 4.1) port of
Theta interface unit with the cable supplied. The chamber is connected on the back of the temperature
control unit (see Figure 4.20). If temperature probe (TCP) is used, connect it on the back of the Theta to
the
Temp.
port.
Do not remove the ceramic lid or touch the environmental chamber when high temperatures (> 50
⁰
C) are
used due to the risk of burn injuries.
