Internet Service Installation
Before the eMTA is operable, you will need to set up an Internet access account with your
local cable service provider. Make sure to verify the following—
•
Your cable service provider must support two-way, DOCSIS-compatible cable modem
access in order for the eMTA to communicate with your cable service provider’s
Internet access service.
•
An active RF (radio frequency) coaxial cable connection should be located
conveniently near your PC.
•
You will need to have an Internet access account to enable you to receive e-mail,
access the web, and receive other Internet services.
[
NOTE:
Place the eMTA in a proper location with adequate airflow. Your
PC and eMTA should be placed near your cable input with plenty of space for the
cable.
