Connecting to the network

You can play the output signal of the HDIP 1 Network Encoder on mobile devices (laptop, tablet, 
smartphone). The encoder acts as a server, see figure 15.

Carry out the following steps:

For example, connect a DVD player to the HDIP 1 using a signal cable or plug a USB stick with 
transport stream files into the USB socket of the device to connect it to a signal source.

Establish a connection between the HDIP 1 and a WiFi router. (Remember that the encoder IP 
address and the router IP address must be in the same subnet.)

Establish a connection between a mobile device and the WiFi router.

Play a video or audio file.

You can use different transfer protocols to play back the file.

1. Transmission via HLS protocol when using a tablet or smartphone

The Safari browser can be used on Apple devices if the HLS protocol is used. No additional player 
software is required (see figure 16).
