tends to rise at the front, place the counterweight further away from the pool cleaner. If it rises at the back, place the counterweight of the hose
nearer to the pool cleaner.
A second counterweight should be used if the pool is more than 2.2 m. deep.
FLOW METRE
This controls the suction flow of the pump. It is placed at the end of the length of hose.

Pool cleaner connection
FLOW CONTROL
This adjusts the suction flow to absorb slight variations.
Place the male terminal of the hose in the automatic flow valve and then connect the
automatic flow valve to the suction inlet (skimmer or pool cleaner inlet), using the conical
adapter. The automatic flow valve enables you to adjust the flow to the optimum level
depending on the power of the pump. Turn the control clockwise to reduce the flow passing
through the pool cleaner.
You should bear in mind that it should always be submerged in the water, otherwise it will
take in air and will not adjust the flow properly.
4. START-UP
PREPARING THE SWIMMING POOL AND FILTERING EQUIPMENT
The filtering equipment should be working at maximum flow before installing the pool cleaner, and therefore
you must check that the skimmer,
filter and pre-filter
of the pool pump are clean before connecting the pool cleaner, otherwise you will have to adjust the pool cleaner again after
cleaning the filtering system.
You just have to carry out these simple preliminary steps:
1. Clean the pre-filter of the pump and the skimmer.
2. Backwash and rinse the filter until the transparent turbidity control sight glass is clear.
3. Close the drain of the pool.
4. Always direct the return nozzles towards the bottom of the pool, so that they do not cause waves on the water surface. The water current on
the surface would push the hose and stop the pool cleaner from covering the whole of the pool. Also, by directing the return current to the
bottom of the pool, the water will circulate better.
CONNECTING THE ASPID
The hose can be connected to one of the skimmers of the pool or to the pool cleaner inlet. We recommend you connect it to the pool cleaner
inlet to operate more efficiently.
1. Install the automatic flow valve in one of the skimmers or in the pool cleaner inlet using the
conical adapter. If your pool has 2 skimmers, the skimmer located in the deepest part of the
pool will take priority.
2. Fill the hose with water and keep it under water. Check that the pool cleaner hose does not
contain any air and then connect it to the valve. The counterweight and deflector should
already been installed in the hose.
3. Close all other suctions routes: the other skimmer, the pool cleaner inlet, the drain, unless the pump is very powerful (use the flow control
valve).
4. Connect the Aspid to the hose.
5. OPERATION
ADJUSTING THE SUCTION FLOW
The flow meter enables you to check that the installation has sufficient flow required for
optimum working order of the ASPID.
We recommend you to always control the flow, particularly if you are not sure as to the
suction power of the pump of the pool.
All these operations should be carried out under water so that the pump does not suction in
air.
1. Separate the pool cleaner from the hose and replace it for the flow metre.
2. Observe the area indicated by the metre:
Minimum:
x
Increase the flow by closing the valve turning the control anticlockwise until the metre indicator reaches the ideal
area.
x
Remove the metre and connect the apparatus to the hose.
Ideal :
The flow is ideal to operate the pool cleaner. Remove the metre.
Maximum:
x
Reduce the flow by opening the valve turning the control clockwise until the metre indicator reaches the ideal area.
x
Remove the metre and connect the pool cleaner to the hose.
