7.0 Install terrain server software
If you purchased the optional ACE terrain server database software (ACE-TRN), you will have
an Options file that enables the terrain server software to run on the Telestra server. To install the
terrain server software from the Telestra Target Software Installation DVD, follow these steps:
1. Log into the system using the following default credentials:
Username
Password
root
abcd1234
2. Type
terrain-server-install
, and press Enter.
3. Insert the Telestra Target Software Installation DVD, and press Enter.
Note
: The Terrain data is very large and may take several minutes to complete.
4. Wait for the installation to complete. Follow the on-screen instructions and remove the
disc from the drive when instructed.
5. Make any necessary changes to the
/usr/local/asti/sysconfig/terrain_d.ini
terrain server
configuration file. Configuration instructions are self-documented in the file.
6. Reboot the platform for the changes to take effect.
Important
: This installation is for ASTi terrain server software only, which includes
DTED Level 0 data for the entire Earth. For third party terrain server data, see the
Terrain web page in the Remote Management System (RMS).
