Explanation of terms
–
Self-locking system With an
automatically locking
door lock, the closed door is always locked.

Face plate
The
face plate
is screwed onto the door.

Latch bolt
The
latch bolt
latches in the striking plate and controls the function of the control latch and the automat-
ic locking.

Control latch
When the door is closed, the control latch extends to the striking plate, which in turn pushes it in. The
extension of the bolt is controlled in combination with the position of the latch bolt.

Bolt
The
bolt
is always extended when an automatic locking door is closed.

Cylinder fixing

The
cylinder fixing screw
is provided for the fastening of the locking cylinder in the lock case.

Profile cylinder

The
profile cylinder
(locking cylinder) is installed in the
profile cylinder cutout
and screwed into place with
the cylinder fixing screw.

Follower / handle
pin
The
handle pin
is a square pin which is guided through the
follower
and ends in the door handle. With
locks with a split lock nut, the handle pin is also split.

is the distance from the keyhole centre to the front edge.

Rear backset

rear backset
is the distance from the keyhole centre to the rear edge.

Striking plate
The
striking plate
is the counterpart to the lock installed in the door frame (Pic. 7).

rebate gap
is the distance between the face plate and striking plate (Pic. 4).
