Unsuitable doors diminish personal safety and intrusion protection:
Only approved and technically
faultless doors are suitable for the mounting of the
electric security lock 809M
. Prior to the mounting of the
electric security lock 809M
, the door must be inspected to ensure that it closes properly and is not warped.
The door must be approved for the use of the
electric security lock 809M
. Operating elements of the doors
may not interfere with each other.
The
electric security lock 809M
is not permitted for use on double acting swing doors or double-leaf doors.
Unsuitable locks reduce personal safety and fire safety:
The
electric security lock 809M
is suitable for fire
doors or smoke protection doors (“Electric security lock 809M“, page 34). Check whether the certifica-
tion of the door matches the lock. Make sure that the
electric security lock 809M
is installed in the appropri-
ate size and with the suitable accessories.
Unsuitable door seals reduce personal safety:
None of the functions of the
electric security lock 809M
may be impaired with the use of door seals (e.g. profile seals or bottom seals).
Shattering glass doors can cause severe injury:
Glass doors or glass parts on doors must be made of
safety glass or composite safety glass.
Unsuitable fastening means diminish personal safety and intrusion protection:
Suitable fastening
means must be used depending on the installation situation and materials of the door.
Incorrect or faulty installation impair personal safety:
The normal installation height for door handles
is 900 mm to 1100 mm above the finished floor surface. If children are present in the majority of the
building, the installation high must be reduced accordingly. Any lock counterparts or coverings which are
provided should be installed in order to ensure conformity with this European standard. Only fittings ap-
proved according to DIN EN 179 may be used.
Limited moveability of the door diminishes personal safety:
All blocking elements must be mounted
such that the free movement of the door is not impeded. The doors may only be locked with the approved
locks. No additional devices may be installed. Any installed door closers may not impair the actuation of
the door by children and infirm persons.
