Amplifier Changeover Testing
It is possible to test changeover to a standby amplifier and change-back provided that the selected amplifier
is connected to an available standby amplifier (and is not a standby amplifier itself).

In order to changeover an amplifier proceed as follows.
1. Select
Tests

2. Scroll and select a mainframe/slot from the list:
[Framenn/Sxx - ]
Mainframe: 01 to 63
Slot:
1 to 4
Note:
Only configured mainframe/slots are displayed.
Mainframe and slot description will be displayed on the right side, if defined.
3. Move to, and select the
Changeover
menu item to activate the changeover test:
[Changeover] Changeback
Control is now continuously applied to changeover the selected amplifier. On exit from the menu, this
control is no longer applied. The amplifier will however be physically expected to remain in the changed
over state.
The VAR Router will lock out for 3 seconds then return to the Changeover test menu.
Note:
A warning message will be displayed, if a standby amplifier is selected.
4. Select
the
Changeback
menu item to deactivate the changeover test, and return the amplifier to its
normal state:
Changeover [Changeback]
The VAR Router will lock out for 3 seconds then return to the Changeover test menu.
Once changed over, change-back must be selected manually.
Take care not to leave an amplifier in a changed over state.
Pressing ‘FAULT CLEAR’ undoes all active changeovers.
