11.C - Videoconferencing Mode
If no laptop computers are connected to the
interface unit and the codec is “asleep” or in
standby mode, the system will remain off . To
turn the system on, simply wake the codec or
take it out of standby by pressing the bu on
(camera icon).
As soon as the codec “wakes up” the system
will turn on and automa cally route the codec
image to the screen. At the same me, the
bu on on the bu on control interface will turn
green.
If a laptop is connected to the
system the screen will automa cally
route the laptop to the screen and
the bu on will turn blue.
To place a call, use the system’s
standard hand held remote control,
web interface or touch panel.
If the videoconferencing codec is in a call and
a laptop is connected, the screen will not
route the laptop to the screen. It is assumed
that the laptop image will be included as part
of the videoconferencing call. If full screen
presenta on is required, simply press the
laptop’s associated bu on.
When the videoconferencing system is in an
ac ve call, but a laptop is displayed on screen,
the videoconferencing bu on will turn blue.
When undertaking a video conference, it is
important to know when your microphone is
muted. The Ashton Bentley system gathers real-
me mute status informa on and displays this
on the mute bu on located in the centre of the
bu on panel. When there is an ac ve call the
bu on will turn green when un-muted and red
when muted.
When the videoconferencing codec
is not in a call, mute status is not
displayed.
