important. Only as skilled pilot you will be able to react appropriately. If you are in trouble for any
reason do not hesitate to react, but …
Don’t panic! The wilder control inputs, the more battery power is used.
Be aware of the capacity limits.
At any time pay attention to people and third party property that may be injured
or damaged by uncontrolled flight maneuvers or failing.
Always be prepared to switch over to HEIGHT MODE. If in any case the GPS MODE should be
interfered with, switch immediately to HEIGHT MODE, try to remain calm and descend slowly.
P.
CRASH
Should you experience a crash with your UAV, do not worry, we can repair everything for a fair price.
Contact us immediately and send us the log files via mail to
.
Send us the complete system (UAV, MGS and all payloads used) for repair.
In case …
1: the UAV is crashed, but not lost.
2: the UAV is crashed and lost.
Take pictures of spot, to document and help us
with the reconstruction of the circumstances.
Remove all batteries and store the system or
parts of the system safely in the transport case.
The last known position of your AscTec Falcon
8 is saved in your Status Display. Click Right
once (while not connected). Latitude and
longitude (= exact position) are displayed.
See
p. 27.
Your repair usually is done in 3 working days. For several outdoor test flights weather conditions may
lead to delay. Period and conditions of supply depend on your location.
Q.
OPERATIONAL LIMITATIONS
The AscTec Falcon 8 system has the following operational limits:
Operating temperature range from 0–35° C. Under 5° C battery capacity and flight time drop
dramatically.
Wind speeds up to 10 meters per second (10 m/s). Beyond that the UAV will not be able to
keep its position in GPS MODE automatically. Choose the HEIGHT MODE to perform.
Maximum payload is depending on configuration.

A distance under 250 meters between pilot and UAV is recommended according to our
experience. Beyond that the UAV is rarely visible.
The UAV is not waterproof. Flying in rain, fog or snow is strictly forbidden.
Do not operate your system in dusty areas. Dust or sand may damage UAV and camera.
Altitudes of more than 3,500 meters above sea level are very risky. Flight time and stability
will distinctly decrease.
Do not launch or fly in areas with magnetic fields if you are not used to the HEIGHT MODE.
