3. LOCAL UPDATING OF THE DEVICE SOFTWARE
The device software can be updated in the main operation mode and in the bootloader mode.
Updating of the device software in the main operation mode
1.
Connect the device to a PC via USB.
Once connected, the device will be identified as a removable media ‘APP’.
2.
Copy the firmware file to the root of the removable media ‘APP’.
3.
Send the device the command ‘upgrade extflash’ (without quotation marks) to start the
update process using the ArnaviConfigurator programme.
4.
Wait for the update process to finish.
After the update process is complete, the device
will restart automatically.
Updating of the device software in the bootloader mode
1.
Enter the bootloader mode in one of the following ways:

by sending the command ‘upgrade msc’;

by closing 1-W (pin 7) to GND (pin 1) and shorting RX (pin 9) to TX (pin 21), and then
supplying power to the device. After entering the bootloader mode, at least one of the
pairs must be closed off.
In the bootloader mode, the device will be detected as a removable media ‘LOADER’ and
will stay in this mode for 120 seconds, after which the device will restart automatically.
2.
Copy the firmware file to the root of the removable media ‘APP’, after which the update
process will start automatically.
3.
Wait for the update process to finish. After the update process is complete, the device will
restart automatically.
