13. SHIFT FUNCTIONS
Here’s a list of all Shift button features. Click the links to read about them:

Restart the sequence/arpeggio to step 1, quantized to the next step of
Seq 1
SHIFT + Rec (Seq mode) [p.124] Sequencer append mode
SHIFT + Seq encoder [p.124] Wait to load sequence (loads when SHIFT is released)
SHIFT + Stop (Seq mode) [p.124] Clear last step
SHIFT + Sync [p.124] Metronome on/off
SHIFT + Tap/Rest (Arp mode)

13.1. SHIFT + Keys 1-5
Use this combination to select one of the 5 Gate [p.76] settings. Sequencer mode and
Arpeggiator mode have independent Gate settings.
13.2. SHIFT + Keys 6-16
Use this combination to select one of the 11 Swing [p.82] settings. Sequencer mode and
Arpeggiator mode have independent Swing settings.


: The Time Div setting must be equal to or lower than the Master Swing setting in order for the Swing
to be heard. For example, if Time Div = 1/4 and Master Swing = 1/8, the Seq/Arp will not have a shuffle
feel. The Master Swing setting can be changed using the
MIDI Control Center [p.109] .
13.3. SHIFT + Key 17
Switches between Retrig and Legato [p.40] modes of note retriggering. Retrig mode will
restart the envelopes from their Attack stages unless a cable is plugged into one of the Trig
inputs [p.67] in the patch bay [p.53] .
