HOW TO USE
CAUTION: Do not use this product to cook or defrost frozen food. All food must be completely defrosted before cooking it with this product.
NOTE: During the initial uses of this product, it may produce some smoke. This is normal and will subside with further use.
• Before using this product for the first time, clean the appliance with a dry cotton cloth, clean the cooking plates ,and the drip trays
thoroughly by hand or in the dishwasher .
• Dry the cooking plates thoroughly ,before reinserting into the appliance
• Make sure to replace the Drip Tray.
• Open the unit by pulling the Handle up.
• You may season the plates with butter, margarine or cooking fat. Since the appliance has a non-stick coated surface, the use of butter or oil is optional.
• Close the Plates and turn the unit on by plugging it into a standard electrical outlet. Verify that the Power Indicator Light illuminates in red.
WARNING: The Cooking Plates and metal surfaces of the unit will become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn hazard, wear heat
resistant mitts or gloves and touch only the black portion of the Handle.
• After the unit preheats for approximately 6-8 minutes, the Ready Indicator Light will illuminate in green, indicating the product is ready for use.
• Use the Handle to lift the Upper Plate. Place food on the Lower Plate using wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils.
CAUTION: Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will scratch and damage the Plates’ non-stick coating.
• Use the Handle to lower and rest the Upper Plate on top of the food.
NOTES:
• The cooking time for different foods depends on the type and thickness of the foods.
• Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
• When the food is cooked as desired, lift the Handle to open the Plates, then remove the food using the utensils. If more cooking will be
done at this time, close the Plates to conserve heat.
• Turn off the product by unplugging the Power Cord from the electrical outlet.
• When the unit has completely cooled, press the releas bottons,then lift the cooking plates up and move them backwards, clean and dry it.
USE AS OPEN GRILL
• Place Grill Toaster on a clean flat surface where you intend to cook. The Grill Toaster can be positioned in flat position.
• Upper plate/cover is level with lower plate/base. The upper and lower plates line up to create one large cooking surface. The Grill
Toaster to this position, press the unlocking button on the right arm.
• With you left hand on the handle, use your right hand to slide the lever toward you. Push the handle back until the cover rests flat on
the counter. The unit will stay in this position until you lift the handle and cover to return it to the closed position.
• Use the Grill Toaster as an open grill to cook burgers, steak, poultry (we do not recommend cooking bone-in chicken, since it does not
cook evenly on an open grill), fish and vegetables.
• Cooking on the open grill is the most versatile method of using the Grill Toaster. In the open position, you have double the surface area for grill.
• You have the option of cooking different types of foods on separates without combining their flavors, or cooking large amounts of the
same type of food. The open position also accommodates different cuts of meat with varying thicknesses, allowing you to cook each
piece to you liking.
CLEANING AND CARE
• Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance and the plates to cool down.
• Wipe the outside with only a slightly moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooling slots.
• To clean the plates you can let them in the appliance or remove them from the appliance (therefore press on the button 2 near the
handle and remove them). If you let them in the appliance, wipe the plates with a damp cloth or towel. If you remove them from the
appliance, you can wash them under running water. Dry them afterwards.
• Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this will damage the finish.
• Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
STORAGE
• Always unplug the Grill Toaster before storage.
• Always make sure the Grill Toaster is cool and dry before string.
• The power cord can be wrapped around the bottom of base for storing.
