5. Operations
Safety
Always use a mattress of the correct size and type. A range of suitable pressure
reducing and pressure relieving mattress are available from ArjoHuntleigh.
Before operation of the bed, ensure that no children, pets or obstacles such as bed-
side furniture are in its path.
Before operating the bed, ensure that the patient is positioned correctly to avoid
entrapment or imbalance.
Always apply the brakes when the bed is stationary. When operating the bed in tilt
mode, apply the brakes at one end only.
Do not expose the equipment, especially the mattress, to naked flames such as
cigarettes etc.
Use only ArjoHuntleigh accessories designed or approved for use with the bed.

When moving bed, wrap electrical power cable around Cable Tidy, located at bed head
end in order to avoid damage to cable.
o
Ensure the bed is connected to mains power at all times.
o
Brakes must be applied before lowering bed to minimum height.
o
Bed must be raised before releasing brakes.
o
Do not adjust bed height during patient transfer.
