9. Remove five cap screws securing the transmission
to the V-belt housing; then remove four cap screws
securing the engine-to-transmission mounting plate.

10. Pull the front propeller shaft forward until it is free
of the front transmission output yoke; then remove
the transmission from the left side.
Top-Side Components
NOTE: For efficiency, it is preferable to remove
and disassemble only those components which
need to be addressed and to service only those
components. The technician should use discretion
and sound judgment.
NOTE: The engine/transmission does not have
to be removed from the frame for this procedure.
SPEED GOVERNOR
Removing/Disassembling
1. Remove the timing belt (see Left-Side Compo-
nents in this section).
2. Remove the air filter assembly; then remove the
valve cover.

3. Disconnect the throttle cable; then remove the cap
screws securing the intake manifold/throttle cable
housing to the cylinder head.
